I received a call from someone purporting to be associated with the 'National Data Centre', attempting to peddle Government grants tied to household ‘Recycling and Enhancement’ initiatives - definitely a dodgy operation! My number is listed with the Telephone Preference Service, yet they seemed unaffected by it. To make matters worse, they didn't even withhold their phone number, leaving the door open for an unwitting return call that could cost you. This seems well outside the bounds of proper telemarketing practices!
