Got a call from 01269849892 around 10.48 this morning. It showed up on my phone as ‘International out of area’ but when I looked into it, it was actually a Welsh number. A robotic voice said my BT broadband and phone line would be disconnected that same day, so I just ended the call. A mate suggested blocking the number through BT call protect. Problem is, they switch the number every time, so unless you want to spend ages on it, it’s pretty pointless.

Got loads of calls from someone pretending to be BT Openreach, saying they need my bank info to ‘sort out the broadband’. It’s clearly a scam, they keep ringing me every couple of hours. When I ignore them, they get rude and start threatening to call me "over and over like your dad". Proper dodgy behaviour.

Got a bloke with a proper English accent saying he's from BT, threatening to disconnect my phone and internet before the day ends. I just ignored his prompts to press some buttons and ended the call. This is at least the fifth time he's called me using different numbers.

01269849892 - Man with an Asian accent, pretending to be from some internet security firm, saying someone tried to hack my PC last night. Absolute rubbish! Proper annoying and rude spam call. I told him to stop calling, and he started swearing at me. These calls are definitely scams. The number’s from Wales. I used to get calls like this every few weeks, saying they were from BT Openreach. Best thing is to block and report them - it’s always a con! They might even try to get into your computer pretending to fix a fake issue, so be careful.

Got a robotic male voice claiming to be from BT saying my phone and internet would be cut off unless I pressed 1 or 2 for options. Definitely a scam. I reported it to BT, Action Fraud and blocked the number. Weirdly, 1471 showed the caller as 01896 885490, but BT Call Protect listed a different number, 01269 849892, as calling me. Strange! NEVER answer these sorts of calls, they’re dodgy.

I received a call from this number earlier today, but the awkward pause before anyone spoke gave away that it was a call centre ringing me. I swiftly hung up and made sure to add the number to my 1572 list to block any future nuisance.

Received a call earlier today regarding a 'refund' from Sky. I mentioned that we can't actually receive Sky due to the trees at the back of our garden obstructing the signal. As soon as I said that, the line went silent.

Some bloke from abroad calling on an international number, showing up as 01269849892, tried telling me I had damp due to cavity wall insulation. I told him no way, but he kept insisting I did. I said I'd be well aware if that was the case. Then he started getting rude and the call just cut off.

I got a call from an INTERNATIONAL number, 02985600596, claiming I could have 3 months of free line rental from BT! I was suspicious and rang BT directly to check, and they told me they only ever use 0800 numbers for official calls. Definitely a scam in my view.

Got a call from the number 02985600596 earlier today. Didn’t pick up, but I looked it up on who-called[###][###] before putting it on my BT Blacklist. Strangely, the number shows up as 01269 849892 in my BT call log and blacklist. Either way, I’ve blocked it now to be safe.
