Got a call from 01269 839063 asking for the CFO. Thing is, he never takes calls like that and wasn’t even in the country then. I said i was his PA and asked for their name and what the call was about. They refused to say anything and just ended the call when i told them i wasnt giving out any info unless they told me who they were first.

Had a call from someone saying they were with Microsoft. I just told them I’m on the ‘do not call’ list, so what they’re doing is actually against the law, and warned I’d take legal action if they called again. I do this with every scam call and honestly don’t get many anymore.

Just got a ring from what they said was Talk Talk, with a Welsh number but definitely not coming from that place. Told them where to go after a bit of swearing - adding this one to the block list. It’s really frustrating when you’re waiting for proper calls and keep getting these annoying ones!

Got a voicemail from some robot with an American twang pretending to be from HMRC. They said I need to ring a solicitor and call them back on this number to sort out my 'case', warning me about 'consequences' if I don’t. Absolute rubbish! Blocked the number straight away.

I told her it’d be nice if I had one, but I’m just an old widow on a tiny pension, then ended the call. They tried again about 10 minutes later but were rude and threatening this time. I just hung up and phoned the police straight away.

Got a call that popped up as Brighton, but it was some automated American lady warning me about the Inland Revenue and saying I'd face legal consequences if I didn’t ring back. Totally a scam, no doubt about it.

Got a call with a robotic voice saying my internet was hacked or something and that it’d be cut off today. It told me to press 1 if I was with BT, or 2 if I used a different company. Didn’t stick around for it, just ended the call.

Got a call from 1430 on 26/4/18, but when I picked up, it just went straight to my voicemail, and they didn’t leave any message. This has scam written all over it, so I’d just block it and ignore.

Received a call at 4.24pm on 23rd April 2018, but there was nothing but silence when I answered. I rang 1471 and the automated message said the number was 02077523667. Since I have BT Call Protect, I tried to block it by dialling 1572, but after pressing 1, the system then gave a different number: 01269839063. I contacted BT’s help desk and they put me on hold while checking with their tech team. They couldn’t come up with any explanation for why the numbers didn’t match. Cheers for that! I’ve now set Call Protect to block both numbers just to be safe.

got a call from a woman who sounded asian, her english was shockingly bad. she was trying to sell some kind of house insulation and damp proofing, but i reckon it was a total con. i told her i couldn’t make out a single thing she said and suggested she call someone back home who speaks her language better. honestly, i can’t see how this would help with insulating a proper mud hut anyway!

So, my fella rings me on his mobile, but I can’t seem to catch it. When I check my phone later, this strange number pops up. Anyone have a clue who that might be? If I try ringing it back, I only get some crackling noise before it cuts out entirely. Quite bizarre, if you ask me!
