There's this guy called Steve, claiming to be from a solar panel firm, who’s been ringing me every week since January. I've tried being nice and asked him to stop calling, and at other times I've even told him off quite rudely, but nothing seems to make him quit. When I last spoke to him, I was pretty calm and even mentioned he'd called me before, but he flat out denied it and then just hung up. Since that chat, he’s phoned me two more times. It’s getting a bit creepy now. Why isn’t there something that can be done about this?

I got a call about doing a survey on my solar panels. When I said I’m on the TPS, the caller just said that the TPS never told them not to call me. I told them it’s their responsibility to avoid unsolicited calls anyway and ended the call.

Got a call from 01268833596 at about 11.18am on 4th April. The lady asked for me directly and kept pushing even after I told her straight up "You're a scam." She denied it and said she was from a firm called "Utopia Housing." Then she started asking if my loft had insulation added. Mentioned my number wasn’t showing up on her database as signed up to the TPS, so I told her to update that right away and ended the call. Pretty sure it's the same lot that called me just yesterday.

Got a call from some company claiming to be official and wanting to check on my solar panels. Turned out they were just a private firm pushing a 'free' survey so they could flog extended warranties for the panels. They’re breaking the rules by cold calling numbers on the TPS list despite their MCS accreditation. Definitely steer clear of these lot!

Just saw the other comments and wanted to chime in. We’re both well into our seventies and I’m curious if most folks upset about this number are also older, maybe over 60? I’m a bit worried my husband might fall for it again since he’s been caught out by them before.

This lady rang me saying there’s some new law about loft insulation and I might be entitled to some cash from America or something. It was so daft, I couldn’t help but laugh and asked her if I knew what a handle was - she didn’t get it at all. I told her I wasn’t daft and asked her to remove me from their list (though I reckon that won’t happen). Then I just hung up and blocked the number straight away.
