Had the same number calling me SEVEN times yesterday while I was out, then they decided to try again this morning from 004. I picked up and straight away she pretended to be from the Telephone Preference Service, which I’ve been signed up to for yonks. She claimed they were going to help me avoid nuisance calls. I didn’t let her waffle on any longer; I just told her, “Great, that’s precisely why I’m registered with you. Get on with it. Cheerio.” What on earth is going on with these folk?

My elderly mother, who's living with Alzheimer's, received a call from someone inquiring about her bank card details. She was completely puzzled and didn't recognise them at all. The caller seemed quite irritated and then insisted on speaking to me, but I wasn't available at that moment. I'm left wondering whether this was some sort of scam or if it could genuinely be the bank trying to reach out. However, when I attempted to call the number back, it just rang out as if it were disconnected. What a strange situation!

Last night I got a call from someone claiming to be from 'Telephone Preference Management' asking me to update my credit card details. I told them straight up they were scammers and reminded them that TPS doesn’t charge a penny. Honestly, it’s pathetic how they try to trick genuine people like that. Since the 27th of March, I’ve been bombarded with these calls-counting up to six now. I picked up on the first one, and the caller quizzed me about receiving nuisance calls. I cheekily replied, “Indeed, this is one,” which made him chuckle before he abruptly ended the call. Following that, I’ve had five more, which I thought I’d managed to block. Yet, lo and behold, a new number ending in 004 has cropped up. Is there any legal recourse or trading regulations that can be leveraged to put a stop to this nonsense?

Yesterday, I was bombarded with a minimum of four calls from this particular number (27/3/2018). I picked up the line twice, only to be greeted by a caller probing about whether I had fallen victim to "nuisance calls." I didn't feel inclined to engage further. During my second interaction, I made it crystal clear that I had no interest in their services and requested them to cease calling me. Today, I received a call from a number that was quite similar, 01264-264004. I answered, hoping to convey my frustrations and demand an end to their persistent calls, but to my dismay, there was either silence or the caller hung up as soon as I responded. It goes without saying, I certainly won’t be answering any of these bothersome calls again if I recognise the number in the future.

Got a call from two people, a man and a woman who sounded Asian, claiming they were with the TPS or something like that. They’re obviously trying to trick me into giving out my bank info, but they don’t even get basic stuff right - like asking if my card is going to expire, which makes no sense if you’re paying straight from your bank. Got a call from someone saying they were with “telephone preference management services”. They even knew my name and where I live, which made it seem legit at first. The bloke somehow worked out the kind of debit card I was using, which was pretty standard. Then he wanted the expiry date, so I made one up. He reckoned it didn’t match up, which made me wonder if it was part of his trick or if he actually knew. After that, he asked for ‘the number beneath my name’ on the card, which I think meant the sort code. That’s when I thought, nah, I’m done here and hung up.
