Got a call from someone claiming to be from O2, though I've never even been with them. The lady on the line had a really thick accent from the Indian sub-continent, so it was a bit hard to catch everything she was saying. She was trying to push some sort of deal, but didn't explain much about it. I quickly said I wasn’t interested at all and ended the call.

Absolutely no humour at all! Got a call from someone saying they were with Carphone Warehouse. I said I wasn’t interested straight away, then the bloke asks what phone I’ve got. I told him, “the one in my pocket, since you just called me on it.” Suddenly, he starts swearing at me, calling me all sorts of names. Then he rings back twice just to insult me some more! Ridiculous.

This guy with a heavy Indian accent called me claiming he was from some place like “um, um, car... phone... house or something.” Honestly, I just hung up on him - if he can’t even keep straight where he says he’s calling from, no way he’s gonna pull one over on me!

My phone said the call was from Cromer. The caller claimed they had a 30% discount on O2 contracts. They spoke very quickly and had a heavy accent. When I asked why they weren't calling from O2's official number, they just went quiet. I then wanted to know how to confirm it was really O2, and they told me to call them back on that very same number. I declined and said I didn’t think they were legit O2, then they just said alright and hung up. At least they weren’t rude about it.

Definitely felt like I was talking to some sort of overseas call centre, I could hear a bunch of foreign voices in the background. At one point, I reckon she thought the call ended, but I still heard her chatting away in what sounded like an Asian language to someone else. She insisted she knew exactly which phone I had and guessed it was either an iPhone or Samsung - which it's not at all.
