I got a call from this number, claiming they needed to confirm my name and address because of some supposed debt I owed. I told them quite firmly that I didn’t have any debt at all, but before I could finish, they just cut me off and ended the call.

As soon as I picked up the call, it became abundantly obvious that I was dealing with a shifty lot from Pakistan. Now, before anyone jumps to conclusions, I’m simply stating facts, not being prejudiced. I ended up wasting a good quarter of an hour with them, leading them on as they attempted to reassure me they could help slash my debt, which stood at a rather hefty £15,000. The sheer naivety of them was quite entertaining; they were under the impression they had hit the jackpot with me! However, things took a turn when I casually inquired if the woman on the line had any debts herself. When she confessed to having some, I cheekily pointed out that I was actually free of financial burdens and could more effectively assist her! At that point, her tone changed sharply; she got rather irate and aggressive, clearly realising I was having a jolly good laugh at her expense.
