Got a call from this number saying i'd been in some sort of accident. When i said it wasnt true, he quickly switched and said he was from some company, didnt catch which one but could hear people laughing in the background. Ended the call and blocked the number straight away.

Someone rang me and asked if they were talking to me by my first name, which I said yes to. Then he claimed he was from British Gas and even mentioned my street! I told him I wasn’t expecting anyone. He went on about driving 20 minutes to fix my boiler. I told him the number he was calling from was actually registered in Congleton, England, which is like 3 hours away. He tried saying he was on a business mobile, but I knew that wasn’t true since it had an area code. So yeah, I just ended the call!

I received a phone call where the caller mentioned my first name and verified that they were indeed speaking with me. They purported to be from British Gas and even had the cheek to name my street! When I told them I wasn't expecting any visitors, they claimed to have travelled a full twenty minutes to come and service my boiler. I couldn't help but point out that their phone number originated from Congleton - a good three-hour drive away! They attempted to insist it was a business mobile, but I quickly debunked that; the area code told a different story entirely! That's when I decided to end the conversation!
