They said it was a consumer survey. The lottery came up too but that wasn’t everything. At no point did they ask me for any of my bank info.

Some woman rang me up with a weird accent, claiming she was from Microsoft and that my computer was at risk. I said I’ll pass her on to our IT team, and then she asked if this was a business number. I said it was, and asked if that meant I wasn’t hacked after all. Unsurprisingly, she just ended the call straight away.

I got a call from a woman who had a really strong foreign accent and her English wasn't good at all. I knew right away it was some kind of scam and pretty risky. When I told her I figured it out, she just hung up straight away. I picked up cause the number started with 01259, which I know is a local area code near me.

I asked who they were first before giving any info. Had to repeat myself twice before they said something about the postcode lottery. I told them I don’t take part in any lotteries and after a weird silence they just said ‘ok’ and hung up. They didn’t seem to expect that reply at all.

I received a call from someone who claimed to be with an [undisclosed] department, but to be honest, I couldn't make out what she was saying, even after I requested her to say it again. She inquired about my father, who sadly departed not long ago, which just goes to show that she was working off some old details. After a short exchange, she abruptly ended the call and moved on to bother someone else, so I decided to block the number. Just another irritating nuisance, really.

I got a call, supposedly from the People’s Postcode Lottery, but the accent sounded quite foreign. They were telling me about some free discount card for big supermarket chains, plus offers for flights and hotel stays. Then they asked for my bank details, claiming they'd deposit a penny just to verify me. I wasn’t comfortable with that and said no thanks. Later, I got in touch with the actual Postcode Lottery, and they told me they knew about this scam and were working to put an end to it. Apparently, they don’t do any promos like that at all.

I received a rather peculiar call from an Asian woman, claiming to represent some sort of postcode lottery. She insisted that she wanted to send me a card that supposedly entitled me to something. Strangely enough, she already knew my name and postcode, which raised a few red flags. When I asked what it was all about, she mentioned needing my email address to proceed. I was quite sceptical, particularly when she asked for my sort code and bank details, all because she wanted to add a penny to this mysterious card. Naturally, I told her that I didn’t have an email and wasn’t about to disclose my banking information to a complete stranger. She kept trying to persuade me, even mentioning the idea of setting up a direct debit, which honestly made me chuckle. I countered her request by saying, “How about you give me your sort code and account number, and I’ll send you a penny instead?” This seemed to agitate her, as she erupted with a rather colourful expletive and hung up. Mission accomplished, I suppose! Looks like I won’t be receiving any lottery winnings after all! 😂

I got a call from someone claiming to be from the postcode lottery offering a discount code, but weirdly they insisted on getting my bank info first so they could supposedly pay me a penny. I asked for their website and company address to check if the call was legit, but the person said she couldn’t share that and told me to just Google it.
