When I picked up, there was nothing said for nearly 15 seconds before they just ended the call.

definitely a scam, no question about it. the call centre was noisy as hell and the bloke on the phone had no clue what he was talking about. i used to work for bt myself and this has nothing at all to do with them, no matter how you look at it.

Someone called claiming to be from openreach, saying my internet might have some corrupted files and gave me instructions to press the windows key and the r key at the same time. I told them no thanks, and then they began threatening to cut off my connection. I’m pretty sure this number is nothing but a scam.
