Virgin media has rung me for the third time today. They say my internet is running slow (which it really isn’t) and they want me to get on my laptop so they can guide me through some stuff. Of course, I didn’t do it. Seems like a total scam to me and now they keep phoning, trying the same trick. Getting a bit annoying now!

i got this call from someone claiming to be peter with bt broadband, saying that my internet box was downloading stuff every day and slowing my speeds down. i pretended i didn’t even know what a router box was, just for a laugh, but he sounded annoyed and just hung up on me. i’m not even with bt anyway, so definitely just a scam.

Got a call from someone with a strong Asian accent saying they were from BT Openreach, asking if my internet was running slow or had issues. Since my broadband is fine, I just told them it was all good and then hung up.

Just got another call from one of those call centres. Could hear all the background noise but no one actually spoke to me. Then they just hung up straight away. Definitely feels like some kind of spam or maybe those ambulance chasers? Not sure.

I got one of those call centre calls, you can tell by the lag before they speak. It was a guy with an Indian accent pretending to be from BT's tech dept. He kicked off with the classic nice-to-meet-you stuff, like asking how I was. I shut it down straight away. They all seem to use the same script, no doubt they’d try some tale about me needing to fix an issue, and it’d cost me something in the end.
