In the last few days, I’ve been getting loads of calls from this fake Amazon scam. It’s some automated voice, sounds American, telling me my Amazon Prime subscription was renewed for £39.99 and to press 1 if I want to cancel. Now, whenever I hear a recorded message like that, I just hang up without a second thought. It’s a relief to see others say it’s definitely a scam.

Got a call on the morning of 21 November 2019, just before 10 a.m. The person claimed to be from my bank (didn’t say which one), saying they needed to check or possibly block a £600 charge made 15 minutes prior. They asked me to press '1' on my phone. I’ve been getting calls like this for a few months now. Obvious scam, so I just ended the call. M.F. London SW
