10 yearsI find myself in the exact same predicament, to a tee, and it’s really starting to grate on my nerves-especially with the nagging thought that it might be a relative in distress. It appears that these pesky cold callers have recently taken to using phone numbers that are eerily local to our area. If you ask me, the real offenders are the companies who were reckless enough to sell off our phone numbers in the first place! It’s beyond frustrating!11 yearsI was absolutely livid after picking up this call on my mobile, thinking it was a local number. Although I didn’t recognise it, it could have been something urgent regarding a family member! When I answered, there was a cacophony of laughter in the background, and a woman was clearly having a jolly good time. As soon as she stopped giggling, I said, "Hello," only for her to drop the call! The voices I heard were distinctly Southern English, while I’m in Central Scotland! This isn’t the first time I’ve been bombarded with a cold call coming from a local number, and it’s really infuriating-I’m planning to report this! I've already blocked several previous local numbers that disturbed me and will certainly do the same with this one. I suspect whoever is behind this must have acquired quite a few of such numbers!
