This morning, I received yet another annoying recorded message-this time from a woman with an American twang, claiming to be with BT, threatening to cut off my internet. It’s rather baffling, isn’t it? With all the modern technology at our fingertips, why can't they just block these nuisance calls after we’ve reported them? I mean, if you don’t pay your bill, it’s remarkably straightforward to disconnect you! It really ought to be in the best interest of service providers to take action against these pranksters. To be honest, I'm now toying with the idea of jacking in my landline altogether.

Got a call from a lady with an Asian accent claiming my BT broadband would be cut off by midnight unless I hit one of two buttons to fix it. Since I’m not with BT internet, I just figured it was dodgy and ignored it. Seems like a bit of a scam, but I worry older or less tech-savvy folks might be spooked by it. This isn’t the first time I’ve received the same kind of call, though I can’t say if it was from the exact same number.

Like loads of folks seem to say here, I got this dodgy automated call about my BT broadband being slow - bit strange since I don't even use BT internet, haha. They then connected me to some "technician" who spoke with a really strong Gujarat accent, and the phone line quality was absolutely terrible. Normally I mess around with these calls, trying to keep them chatting for as long as possible, but this time I had to admit I couldn't make sense of why he was ringing or what he was trying to say. Then, he just cut me off. Proper rude, honestly!

I just got a really dodgy phone call from someone pretending to be BT. At first, there was a recorded message telling me to press 1 if I needed help fixing internet issues or press 2 to cancel my service. I didn’t press any buttons, but somehow it connected me to an actual person. As soon as I told him I was sure it was a scam and that he wasn’t really BT, he started getting quite rude and aggressive. Definitely think it’s a good idea to let friends or elderly relatives know about this, so they don’t get caught out.

I received a rather peculiar call from a gentleman with an accent who claimed to be contacting me regarding issues with my BT router. Now, I've no idea what BT router he was on about! He then went on to state that his advice applied to all types of routers, yet almost immediately switched back to discussing BT specifically. At that juncture, I made it clear that I was ending the conversation and requested to be removed from their records. Surprisingly, he lingered on the line without uttering a word for an additional three minutes. How odd!

Got a recorded call saying it was BT and that my internet was going to be cut off today. These sorts of calls are a nightmare and definitely should be reported to the TPS, or maybe even straight to the Information Commissioner, so they can actually take action.

Some bloke called saying he was from BT and that I had to pay up or my internet would get cut off. I said I’m not even a customer of BT. Then he went on about how they supposedly own the line.
