About half a year ago, I got a call from a guy named Michael who claimed to be from McAfee support. He sounded Indian and told me my computer was infected with viruses and that hackers from China, Russia, and Pakistan had broken into it. I freaked out and, not thinking straight, ended up paying him to "fix" the issues. Now, every few months, he rings back saying there are new problems with my PC. I asked him straight if he was the one causing these issues since I'd never had trouble before, but he denied it. He speaks really quickly and all he seems interested in is getting more money. I told him I didn’t buy his story and he just said he’d call me again next week. He installed something called supremo.exe on my computer that lets him connect remotely. I’m proper worried and think I need to get a proper computer expert to sort all this out. Don’t pick up if this number rings you.

I think this might be Norton support as well, since I’ve purchased their stuff before and even called their help line. But something feels a bit off this time. Could someone tell me if this is legit?

This number called me claiming my email was compromised, the bloke said his name was Keith Johnson. Then about quarter of an hour later, the same person rings back but now says he’s Michael and tells me my computer drivers were out of date. I just ignore calls from this number now.

Got a call from an Asian bloke who claimed there was trouble with my Hotmail and said the culprits were in the Netherlands. He wanted my account info, but I said no way. He said he'd ring me back. I looked him up on this site afterward. 16/5/2016

I'm getting so fed up with these calls, I've asked them multiple times to leave me alone but they just keep ringing.

I've had enough of them ringing me, already asked them to quit calling but they just keep going.

Some bloke rang me claiming to be from Microsoft, saying he wanted to help me upgrade my PC to Windows 10. I asked how I could be sure he was legit and he said his boss was called Kevin. When I asked for a number to call back, he gave me a mobile starting 07. Didn’t bother hiding it when I mentioned my son is a developer at Microsoft - he just carried on. He rang again about 15 mins later but I ignored it. Just had a look on this site and turned out to be a scam. Cheers for the info!

got a call from some guy claiming to be from 'microsoft' but there was a lot of noise in the background like he was in some call centre. i told him he was actually not allowed to call me since i'm on the tps register, then just hung up. sometimes, when these calls come through, i just say i dont even own a computer! i’ve tried reporting them to tps and ico but it doesn’t seem to make any difference.

This number has been ringing me up a couple of times each week for the last few months. I've stopped picking up when I see it pop up on the screen. Just today, the phone rang, stopped after three rings, and then rang again a bit later, showing the exact same number. No voicemail was left or anything. TD London E2

This number has been contacting me several times in the last few months. Recently, they began using my name and telling me my computer is in danger. Nowadays, as soon as I catch their voice, I just hang up straight away.

Over the last few weeks, this number has been ringing me quite a few times as well. I ended up reporting it to Action Fraud who then gave me a reference number and a password to use if they call again. It’s clearly a con. They try to get you to install Teamviewer or ammyy so they can get into your PC remotely. I was a bit gullible and actually did it once - my computer ended up full of viruses and I had to take it to a proper computer repair shop to sort it out. Caller: Stuart

Got a couple of phone calls from these folks claiming they were reaching out regarding our Outlook account and that they wanted to investigate some errors on our computer. We quickly told them to clear off!
