Lately, I've been getting loads of calls claiming to be from Amazon, with some robotic voice saying my Prime membership has been renewed for £39.99 and to press 1 if I want to stop it. The voice always sounds American, and it’s obviously not genuine. I’ve just started hanging up straight away whenever I hear a recorded message like that. It’s good to know that others recognise this as a scam too!
