I recently got a call from the number 01256693589, claiming to be BT offering an additional 33% discount on my broadband and phone bill. The caller was a woman with a Caribbean accent, but the line was filled with crackling and odd noises, which instantly raised my suspicions. I knew this was a dodgy call as BT typically contacts customers through email or official letters confirming any offers. I thought I’d stay on the line a bit longer to see how far this ruse would go. She had the audacity to read out my postcode, which I quickly corrected her on, prompting her to ask for the right one to sort out the paperwork or something similar. I firmly told her no and pointed out they should already have my information on file. I made it clear I wouldn’t share any personal details over the phone. After that, I hung up and plugged the number into my CPR CALLBLOCKER, ensuring I won’t receive any more of those pesky calls again.

I received a call from a gentleman with a distinctly foreign accent. When I mentioned that I didn’t possess a BT landline, he had the audacity to chuckle at my response. He then attempted to lure me in with the promise of a discount! I reiterated that I didn’t have a BT landline, but he just found it amusing. Honestly, I really don't have one! Eventually, I decided enough was enough, hung up on that smirking chap, and promptly blocked his number.
