You could tell straight away from all the noise in the background that it was a call centre. They claimed to be from BT’s technical support, warning me that my BT internet (which I don’t even have) would be cut off unless I gave them my account info. When I questioned where they got their details from, they just hung up. This kind of thing could really confuse and upset people, especially those who actually use that service and might fall for it.
