Got loads of calls from this number pretending to be EDF but they’re definitely not. An Asian guy was on the line and I told him to just send an email and we’d ring back, but he kept pushing. They kept ringing back multiple times and we kept telling them to stop. Then one time they got really rude and swore at us, and after that they called again from a different number, 01217900772.

Got a call from 01256 277046, Basingstoke area. The person said they were from Carphone Warehouse offering me an iPhone 10+ for £12 a month. Told them I don’t do deals on the phone. Then they emailed me and told me to check the email, so I just ended the call. When I tried calling back, the line just dropped after a couple of rings!

When I picked up, there was a long pause followed by really loud background chatter and an advisor speaking, but I couldn’t understand much because of the noise and thick accent. Right away, they asked for my mobile number and address, talking about some vague upgrade. I told them I wasn’t interested and ended the call. Didnt feel genuine at all.

They said it was EE about upgrading my phone. Got a call from a Liverpool number like this a few days ago. Some Indian woman, the connection was rubbish. When I asked why she was calling since EE usually sends deals through their app, she had no clue. I called her a scammer and she just went 'prove it!'. Complete scam, without a doubt.

The worrying part is it came through as an O2 message, so it showed up with legit texts from O2 on my phone. Anyway, when I gave the wrong codes, she kept blaming some “system error.” Then she started asking how I pay my bill - surely she’d have that info? She got all flustered, made some excuse, and dropped the call. It’s definitely a scam. I’m reporting it to O2 for sure.
