This afternoon I got a call on my home phone from someone saying I was due a £139 refund for an overcharge on an electrical item I supposedly bought not long ago. They even had my name and address and asked for more info to sort the refund within 24 hours. I recognised it as a scam right away since I’ve had similar calls before and haven’t actually bought anything that would need reimbursing. When I called them out on it being a scam, they tried to deny it, but I just ended the call and put the number on block.
