My friend got a call from a woman claiming to be from Bath Citizens Advice, saying she needed to discuss some debts. When my mate said she hadn’t reached out to them and didn’t owe anything, the caller just started shouting and swearing at her, telling her to f##k off and calling her all sorts. Seems like they’ve moved on from the usual covid scams and are trying a new approach now.

Got a call from a woman claiming to be from the NHS, checking if I’d had my covid jab. I asked her why she needed to know, and then she started on about life insurance, saying it was important if I got ill with covid. I told her that wasn’t right at all. When I mentioned I work in public health, she suddenly swore at me and hung up. Might save that line for the next time someone calls like that!

Appreciate everyone sharing their thoughts here. Tried ringing my missus on her mobile a couple of times recently, but she ignored them since she’s never heard of anyone from that 01255 number. I've gone ahead and blocked it now. Honestly, when will the UK actually get tough on these scam callers and give them proper consequences? They’re a right pain.

I got a call from this bloke who might’ve had a South African accent, claiming to be calling from the NHS. My android immediately popped up a warning though, saying it could be spam.

I've been getting calls from this landline quite a few times. Today I finally picked up, and the person on the other end asked for me by name. It sounded dodgy right away. I pushed for his full name, which he was clearly avoiding at first. After a bit of back and forth, he said his name was 'Jonathan Franklin'. He claimed to represent the 'NHS' and the 'Public Health Department', but when I asked for more info like his job title or office address, he couldn’t provide any. Then he started acting all defensive and even a bit rude, asking why I was grilling him so much. I told him I suspected he was trying to scam me. Surprisingly, he admitted it outright and told me to go ahead and report him, which I’m doing now. So yeah, watch out for this one!

I got a call from someone claiming he was with the NHS Covid team. He asked if I’d had both my vaccinations and whether I’d tested positive or negative for Covid. Then he went on about insurance, asking if I had any. He made a point of saying he wasn’t trying to sell me insurance. When I told him I didn’t need any, he just said a quick goodbye and ended the call.

I got a call from someone who asked if I was “Mr (my first name)”, but didn’t seem to know my last name. They said they were with “energis working for the nhs” and started asking if I’d had all my covid vaccines. It sounded dodgy, so I just ended the call and blocked the number straight away. Somebody rang me, said they were doing an NHS survey. I let them go ahead, and after asking about Covid, they suddenly started asking if I had health insurance. Then they tried to say my address and postcode, but mixed it up with somewhere in London EC that’s definitely not where I live. When they asked me to confirm my details, I just told them no way.

I reckon he was just after some personal details. I didn’t hang about - told him he was talking rubbish and a total con. That set him off proper, swearing like a trooper and threatening me with legal action for supposedly abusing an NHS worker. The cheek of these scumbags is unreal. Them accusing me of being abusive when their whole job seems to be ripping off old folks or trusting people out of their cash is just mad.

About ten minutes ago I got a call on my mobile but I didn't pick it up as I usually ignore numbers I don’t recognise and they never seem to leave a message. Still, I always look them up afterwards. Last week, on November 8th at around 11:05am, a bloke with an obviously Asian accent rang from 01279 354437. He said his name was “Jason” and claimed to be calling from the NHS. He asked if I’d had my COVID jabs and quizzed me about my health, life insurance, and private medical cover. He said he wasn’t trying to sell me anything, but I wasn’t having it - told him that anyone needing those details already had them and I was hanging up. Today, I got another call at 11:15am from 01255879555, which I didn’t answer, but I did 141 the number to block it.

Got a ring from this number earlier. The bloke was hard to make out, kept saying he was with the NHS. They started off by asking about my Covid status and then quickly shifted to insurance details. I had a feeling it was dodgy, but the caller sounded nice enough, so I let her get on with it just in case it was genuine - I reckon most people doing these calls don’t actually wanna be annoying. When I mentioned my insurance was through work, she got quite pushy, demanding a figure for how much I pay monthly. I honestly said I had no clue since it’s included in my job benefits, but she kept pressing me for some kind of rough number. I kept saying I didn’t know. I finally asked why she needed that info, and she claimed it was to put on a letter from the NHS about vaccine updates and certificates. I told her I didn’t see why the NHS would care about my insurance and that I already had my vaccine certificate anyway. That’s when her tone changed completely - she got nasty, told me she’d just put some random number down, and then abruptly ended the call.
