this number has been ringing me a lot recently, and the last few calls were really rude. the bloke says he's from some bnb directory or something. ive told him loads of times if im interested i’ll get in touch myself. today i told him to stop calling, but his reply was awful, i won’t even repeat it! also noticed if i dont pick up on the landline, he immediately rings back from a mobile number. quite annoying honestly.

This was clearly a con. They claimed to be from the B&B Directory, telling me my listing needed renewing and tried to get me to hand over some cash. I double-checked with the actual B&B Directory by calling the number on their official website - turns out they don’t use any other contact numbers. Fortunately, I had my records nearby and could confirm our listing wasn’t up for renewal anytime soon. I reported the incident to the B&B Directory, but they didn’t seem too bothered by it.

This has to be a total scam. They’ve rung me up a couple of times over the past month trying to get me to update my info. I told the guy they’d already ripped me off once, I’d reported it to my bank, and blocked any more payments from my card, then switched it out. They’d been sneaking £49 out of me every six months for a year and a half. I’ve emailed them loads saying I don’t want the membership anymore, and tried calling several times but never got through or heard back. Today the caller was quite pushy, insisting I just needed to call a certain number - which I told him I had already done. He got even more aggressive after that, so I just hung up. Apparently the legit B&B directory is based in Somerset, so they must be fed up with these scammers too.

I got calls from people claiming to be from different companies, always asking for money for some service I never signed up for. Watch out though, cause if you say no, they can get pushy and even leave bad reviews about you.

Pretty sure this was a fraud attempt, they tried to withdraw cash from my bank but luckily Barclays blocked it. I’ve used the genuine B and B directory from Somerset for over 3 years with no issues. The real company spells it out 'and' while these ones used the ‘&’. Watch out, the Blackburn lot are complete con artists.

I actually use their services myself and had a quick look on Companies House to confirm they’re legit. There’s no way there’s another company with the exact same name, so this number has to be theirs - definitely not a scam.

We run a B and B up in Northumberland and we belong to the REAL B and B Directory. They’re definitely not operating out of Blackburn and are linked to Gatenby Services. This one’s a total SCAM. If you do a quick search for "B and B Directory Blackburn," you’ll find the number 01254******* and a bloke named Chris, but clicking through takes you to the genuine B and B Directory, which lists completely different addresses and phone numbers. I’m pretty sure all the positive reviews claiming it’s legit are actually posted by the scammers themselves. I’m trying to warn as many people as I can by commenting wherever possible. Stay safe and watch out for these lot.

I've got a B&B over in Warwickshire, and back in spring, I got a call from someone I assumed was from the B&B directory, like the Gatenby Services one. Strange thing is, he charged £49 to my card. Thankfully, Barclaycard refunded me, but then the same thing happened again this August. Very annoying!

I’ve had a few calls from this number in the past. The chap claims he’s updating a directory for B&Bs and comes across as rather courteous and professional at first. However, when I politely declined his offer (honestly, no rudeness on my part) and hung up, he rang back and started hurling some truly vile language my way. I simply requested that he repeat himself, and he doubled down, referring to me as a “deaf idiot.” Quite odd, really. Talk about aggressive marketing-this sort of behaviour could be quite unsettling for others.

Got a call from this number a while ago. The guy claimed he was checking details for a B&B listing and kicked off all polite and professional. I just said "no thanks" nicely and ended the call, but then he rang straight back and started swearing like mad, dropping words like the f* and c* bombs.
