I was utterly taken aback today when I received a call from this number, where a bloke with a foreign accent, possibly from India or Pakistan, began to berate me and make outrageous allegations about things I would never even consider! He claimed to be from HM Revenue and Customs, shouting about tax evasion and insisting that I was on the verge of facing court and potentially jail time. At first, I was completely at a loss for words, but as I began to piece things together, it became glaringly obvious that his assertions were nothing but nonsense. I handle my own taxes and I’m certain they are all in order. We ended up having a rather heated exchange, which thankfully ended in my favour as he eventually backed down and hung up on me. A rather distressing encounter, but thankfully I managed to dodge the scam!
