I received a call from a chap who said his name was Adil and that he was with the Carphone Warehouse, supposedly discussing the renewal or upgrade of my mobile contract. The thing is, I don’t even have a contract with them! Naturally, I thought it was a dodgy scam attempt, so I hung up straight away.

Hmm, the caller ID isn’t helping at all, does anyone have any clue who this could be? I got a missed call from this number but I’m too wary to ring back since it’s unfamiliar. Some bloke called me, said his name was Adil and he was ringing from Carphone Warehouse about upgrading my phone deal. Problem is, I don’t even have a contract with them. He never bothered with any security checks or anything. When I asked him to prove who he was calling from, he just ended the call straight away. Bit dodgy if you ask me.

I got a call from someone who sounded quite nice but didn’t really explain why she was ringing other than to say it definitely wasn’t about selling anything. She mentioned some personal info she had about me which made me a bit uneasy, so I chose not to correct her or give any new information.
