3 yearsI received a call from a gentleman who introduced himself by surname, referencing “Mr” as well. Naturally, I replied affirmatively since I do share that title and last name. He then went on about a home care plan purportedly taken out with Bright Home, which frankly, I couldn't recall. He continued by mentioning there was a whopping 32% discount available due to no claims being made over the last three years. All he needed to do was verify my details. That’s when he mentioned my father's first name, and I promptly corrected him, explaining he had mistaken me for someone else. Unsurprisingly, he hung up rather swiftly. My suspicion was already piqued, considering my father passed away back in 2019. I decided to ring the number again to challenge the caller, but all I got was an answering machine that eventually cut me off. Quite an odd experience!3 yearsThey claimed to be from a home care service.3 yearsJust like others have said, the caller told me they were reporting something to my bank and then they suddenly ended the call.3 yearsThey tried ringing earlier when I wasn’t around, but my husband answered. He’s 72 and a bit vulnerable, so I’m glad he managed to remember the number and jotted it down for me to have a look at once I got back.3 yearsI rang up today, hoping to discuss a home care plan that my late husband had arranged two years back, which is now reaching its renewal date. It’s worth mentioning that he’s been gone for six years now.3 yearsJust like everyone else mentioned, they kept hassling about a payment for a policy that doesn't even exist. I was about to call my husband over to deal with it, but suddenly the call just cut off. Quite creepy, honestly.3 yearsGot a call from someone saying they were from Homecare. They said I missed making a claim or something. I stayed quiet and before I knew it, they just hung up after about 10 secs. Pretty sure it was a scam.3 yearsGot a call from 01254 360399, someone saying they were from Homesafe Insurance about a "five-year home contents policy we supposedly took out in 2020". They said we had a premium due the next day and offered a 40% no claims discount. When I mentioned we’ve got a joint policy with someone else, they quickly insisted we were double insured and offered to cancel the policy, voiding the rest of the three years’ premiums but charging a cancellation fee. I ended the call before they could even ask for any payment info.Homesafe Insurance3 yearsReceived a call earlier from 01254 360 399. I informed them I wasn't keen on what they were offering and have subsequently decided to block the number.3 yearsThat call felt really dodgy.3 yearsTotal rip off, watch out!3 yearsHere’s some info on a system the police (NFIB) have set up to make it simple for people to report scam calls, texts, emails, and other fraud attempts - it’s all below. When I raised the issue of the constant scam calls with my MP, they told me about this. Scammers definitely don’t want this getting around. If you don’t report these scams, don’t expect anything to be done to stop them. Reporting to 7726, your mobile provider, Ofcom, or the companies being impersonated might help a bit, but often the details don’t reach the police for a proper criminal probe.Ofcom3 yearsI called back but nobody picked up on the other side.3 yearsSomeone called looking for a Mr Ferris, I said there’s no one here by that name and the bloke just cut me off. Proper rude!👎👎👎👎Ferris3 yearsGot a call from someone saying they were from Homecare and that my policy was going to run out soon. I asked what item it was for, and they mentioned a Panasonic TV. I've never even had a Panasonic in my place! Once I told him that, he just hung up on me.3 yearsSomeone rang claiming to be from Homecare, telling me I wasn’t registered with them. I told him he was wrong since I’d already paid for the last two years. I just told him to stop wasting my time and trying to scam folks. Then I got another call from the same number today, and when he asked how I was, I said I was fine until he rang me. After that, he just hung up on me.Homecare3 yearsGot a call from someone speaking American English, saying it was about a bank fraud check. Then this Indian guy came on, asking for my credit card info. When I told them no, they just ended the call straight away.3 yearsThey called me and I could have left a voicemail, but I chose not to. Figured it was probably a scam, so I just went ahead and blocked the number.4 yearsGot a call today from someone saying they were with home care maintenance. He wanted to know if my bank card had expired so he could “verify” the info. I told him I’m already covered by home insurance. Then he threatened to send some paperwork and said if I said no, I’d owe £81 for cancelling. I told him I never signed up for a warranty with the telly and might have to check with my solicitor. He just hung up on me. Proper scam. 😒4 yearsHad a call today from 01254360399 about renewing a “Homecare Plan.” They knew my full name and claimed that a payment of over £300 had been debited from my Visa three years back, and now it was time to renew. Strangely, they offered to knock the price down to £205, but I mentioned I don’t have such a policy. When I pressed them about what right they had to access my funds and asked for specifics on the Visa account in question, the caller became quite evasive, insisting the information would be sent along with a payment receipt. I ended the conversation there.Visa4 yearsGot a call from this number on my home phone, the person had an American accent. I kept saying hello but no response, and then they just hung up.
