I've received calls from this number a couple of times - once at 12:18 on the 25th of February and again at 1:26 on the 27th. Luckily, I managed to dodge both of them! Is it possible to sign up a mobile number with the Telephone Preference Service?

I recently received a call from someone claiming to represent Business Telecom. They mentioned they were based in Norfolk and contacted me from the number 08448110440, not from Blackpool as I expected with the 01253 code. The caller went on about how we had a six-week period to decide after leaving a contract, but when we expressed our disinterest, she abruptly hung up. Seems a bit dodgy to me, doesn’t it? Could this be a scam?

Just to give everyone a quick warning, I received a call from a mobile telecoms company (they didn’t reveal their name) that was reaching out to local businesses in an effort to sell some mobile services they claim could potentially be more cost-effective. We opted not to go ahead, and the chap was quite understanding about our decision. However, for those who find unsolicited sales calls rather bothersome, it might be best to steer clear of this number. I’m on the Telephone Preference Service, so I suspect they might have sourced our details from the Yellow Pages since they specifically asked for the business name rather than mine personally.

Received a call from someone claiming to represent Business Telecom. They mentioned being based in Norfolk, but the number they used was 08448110440, definitely not from Blackpool (01253). They insisted we've got six weeks left on our contract, but when we said we weren't interested, she abruptly hung up. Quite suspicious, isn't it? Sounds like a scam to me!
