I’m pretty sure it was a scam. Some bloke with a fake American accent rang, saying he was from O2 and trying to sell me a new phone deal with a flashy contract for just £35 a month. I told him I’d left O2 years ago, but he kept saying he was calling from their London office. Problem was, the phone number had a Blackpool prefix, so I reckon it was a spoofed line. He also had no clue what phone I currently had. My guess is he wanted my bank info, but when I didn’t play along, he hung up, saying it was obvious I wasn’t interested in O2’s “great” offer.
