Sounds like a dodgy number, loads of folks said it’s shown up as different companies. I got a call from an Asian bloke claiming to be from Microsoft. I just ended the call and blocked it. Feels like some call centre constantly trying different tricks to scam people.

I’m based in Wales but often visit Blackpool, so I’m familiar with the 01253 area code. I recently got a call from 01253 609376, and a man with a foreign accent asked if I wanted a loan. After a lot of confusing chat, he promised me £500 (which I never actually received) and then told me to enter some info on my computer, but all it did was bring up a credit score site! I’ve reported this to the Blackpool police because it’s clear these folks are scammers.

Heads up, I also got an email saying my Outlook would get shut down if I didn’t do something, with a link included. I’m super cautious about not clicking links on my phone, but if you're not paying attention, it’s easy to get caught out. The email was full of urgent warnings and claims about breaking terms, all really scary stuff. These people are definitely busy trying to trick folks.

The minute I brought up the TPS they just hung up. I should probably report them to TPS but honestly, I can’t be bothered. They called about a loan I supposedly applied for, and I said I was still interested. I asked them how much I had applied for, and they said £800. I played along for a bit, then they asked me for my bank account details. When I said I'd already given those on the form, they insisted I had to confirm them again. That’s when I told them I was recording the call and planned to report them to the police for trying to scam me. They then called me a rude name and just hung up.

Got a call from a lady pretending to be part of some accident claims group, asking about an accident I supposedly had and wasn’t my fault. I’ve never had any accident, let alone one bad enough to need a solicitor. Pretty obvious scam if you ask me.

Got a call from an Asian guy who said there was some accident linked to my number. He seemed to know some stuff about it already and then asked me if it happened on a main road or in a car park. I thought, if you know so much, why are you even asking? They then tried to get my dob and address but I just gave them made-up info.
