The phone number was clearly faked. An automated voice claimed my card had been charged twice, once on Amazon and once for an overseas transaction. It said to press 1 if it wasn’t me, or 2 to be connected to the fraud team. Being nosy, I chose 2 and ended up talking to a call centre in India. The lady said she worked at the "action fraud department" and asked how she could assist. When I asked a few questions about it, she abruptly ended the call. Tons of signs that this was just a scam.

I pressed 2 just to see what would happen, and ended up on a call with someone from a call centre in India. The woman said she worked for the "action fraud department" and asked how she could assist me. When I doubted her story, she just hung up. Loads of red flags here - totally felt like a scam.
