Received an unwelcome call on my landline around half past ten on the morning of 16th December. The person on the other end stayed silent, which was rather odd. Almost daily at varying hours, this number rings my home phone. I often hear a strange crackling sound followed by an uncomfortable pause that lasts around ten seconds. However, today was a different kettle of fish-they called me at the unearthly hour of 6.07 AM! I reckon its cos someone else picked up first - they probably ring loads of numbers at the same time and whoever answers fastest they try to talk to. Thats why there’s so many empty calls, they only wanna scam you if they get through to a person. Got a call and had a hard time making out what the guy was saying cause of his thick Indian accent. He said he was from some company called Light Research doing a consumer survey and kept telling me he wasn’t trying to sell anything. I picked up the phone and was immediately met with loads of giggling and loud squealing. Then a woman with an Asian accent began speaking really quickly. She used my first name without asking if it was alright. I couldn’t make out a single thing she was saying and told her I wasn’t interested in whatever she was offering before ending the call.

I informed him that I’m listed with the telephone preference service, which means he really shouldn’t be contacting me. I requested he remove my number from his records, but he outright refused. I then mentioned that I would escalate the matter to the TPS, which could result in his employer facing a hefty fine...

Got a call from some Indian bloke claiming it was a "market survey". I asked if it was a sales pitch and he started shouting racist insults, calling me a "white b*****d". Really says a lot about them. When is this kinda behaviour gonna be illegal? Blocked the number straight away.
