Someone rang and asked for us by name but then abruptly hung up.

I banged the phone down the moment I answered it!

Someone rang us searching for a person who doesn't live here anymore. When we asked who was calling, the chap spouted some flimsy excuse and said he'd ring back. Then, he promptly hung up! Curiosity got the better of me, so I called back with my number hidden, and a woman picked up saying "Hello, *something* holidays." Quite dodgy, if you ask me!

I received a call from this number, and they actually asked for us by name before abruptly hanging up! When we tried to return the call, the person on the other end answered briefly and then just cut the line. Quite odd behaviour, really!
