5 yearsGot a ring at 7:34 in the morning today, just as I was enjoying a good sleep - totally not happy about it! Ignored the call. It was from Swindon, Wiltshire.SwindonWiltshire5 yearsI got a call from someone who said he was from BT, using a weird accent (kind of Asian), and told me his name was Alex. It was a bit hard to catch what he was saying because there was a lot of noise in the background. He mentioned there was a problem with my broadband and wanted me to run some tests on my laptop. He said if I doubted him, he could put me through to someone else to prove it was a genuine call. But when I told him I'd ring BT myself using a number I already had, plus doing it on a different phone, he suddenly just ended the call. Bit suspicious if you ask me!AlexBT5 yearsA caller rang up purporting to be from BT, and his thick Asian accent led him to introduce himself as Alex. It was quite hard to decipher what he was saying due to the background noise. He asked me to carry out some checks on my computer so they could sort out some supposed faults. When I probed him a bit, he offered to transfer me to someone for reassurance about the legitimacy of the call. However, when I mentioned that I’d prefer to contact BT using a number I already had, he abruptly hung up. I have a strong hunch this was a fraudulent call-either a pushy salesperson trying to entice me to change my broadband provider or someone with dodgy intentions wanting remote access to my device.BTAlex6 yearsGot a call from someone claiming they were BT, saying my internet speed was slower than it should be.
