I've got a landline that’s meant to be private, and I’m registered with the Telephone Preference Service to avoid these pesky calls. However, at just past noon today, I got a rather unwelcome anonymous call claiming to be from Amazon. It sounded like a pre-recorded message, and I promptly hung up before it could finish spouting whatever it was. When I looked into it, it seemed like the number was local, sharing the same area code as mine. I intend to block this number as soon as I can. Honestly, I have no interest in receiving any unsolicited calls whatsoever!
