6 yearsConstantly getting nuisance calls; whenever I pick up, they promptly cut off the line.6 yearsI received a call from a chap with a thick Indian accent, purporting to be from BT Openreach, insisting he could enhance my internet speed. The background noise was quite overwhelming, making it really difficult to catch what he was saying. It didn’t take long before I realised it was a scam, so I ended the call promptly.BT Openreach6 yearsHeads up, everyone! I received a rather dodgy phone call the other day from a rather fast-talking chap who claimed to be representing BT’s technical department, supposedly working alongside Sky, Virgin, and others. He mentioned that due to the pandemic, BT was assisting in sorting out some technical glitches in their network, allegedly linked to my equipment. I played along at first, but when he inquired about the number of lights on my router, I asked him how many there ought to be. He confidently declared there should be three, which was quite the blunder since my Virgin box doesn’t have that many lit up! I pressed him on what colour those lights ought to be, and he said green, which was yet again incorrect. So, I pushed back and said he should know what type of box I have and asked him to enlighten me on the correct indicators. At that, he abruptly hung up. Just a warning to everyone-this is clearly a scam designed to fish for your personal information! Stay vigilant!BTSkyVirginSubmit Your Own Report (01252 541490)
