Got a call from someone claiming to be from BT saying they needed to check my router because my internet was running slow. Turned out to be a total scam, so I just blocked the number straight away.

My landline beeped and as soon as I picked up, the caller hung up. I reckon it's one of those tricks trying to make me ring back on a dodgy premium line.

Looks like they were trying to pull a scam on me.

There's a call centre in Loharu Haryana, India, that keeps auto-dialling using call lists that someone shady must have sold them. They keep switching up their scam tactics all the time. Just block the number.

I picked up the phone but they just hung up straight away.

I received a call from someone claiming to be from BT, but when I pressed for any sort of verification, he refused to provide it. I asked him to shoot me an email and to remove my number from their list, insisting that he should not contact me again. The chap then got quite boisterous and unreasonably confrontational, not allowing me to get a word in edgewise. I kept him on the line for a bit, just for my own amusement, until he eventually hung up on me. It was blatantly clear it was a scam, as legitimate representatives would never speak to customers in that manner. I’ve now used my BT call blocking feature to erase that number entirely.

I missed the call because it hung up before I could pick up the phone. Judging by the details provided, it strikes me as rather dodgy, especially since I'm unfamiliar with the company mentioned and I’m not entangled in any insurance issues. Out of curiosity, I attempted to return the call, but the number wasn’t recognised at all. Quite suspicious, wouldn’t you say?
