I received a call supposedly from BT's technical support, asking if I was the primary internet user in my household. The chap on the line claimed there had been a breach in my firewall, courtesy of some hacker. Straight away, I felt something was off. For one, I know that BT operates through Openreach, not a technical department like that. Plus, there weren’t any proper security checks to verify my identity. I flat out told him I suspected a scam and promptly ended the call. I even checked the number afterwards - it hasn't shown up on any lists before.
