25/01/22 got a call from this number, some bloke with an Indian accent claiming he was from Carphone Warehouse. About two years back, Carphone Warehouse rang me about upgrading my phone, which I went ahead with since my contract was nearly up and I'd originally bought the phone from them. Not long after, I got an email from O2 saying they had cut ties with Carphone Warehouse and any future upgrades had to be done directly through O2. It made me think Carphone Warehouse was rushing to get customers before the cut-off. Today, I saw a call from this number, which I guess is Carphone Warehouse again. I didn’t pick up, but since my contract's ending soon, I figure they are just trying to drum up more business. When I did renew my contract with a rep before, he was pushy but not rude, though when he asked for my bank details for insurance, I hung up straight away. Oddly, after I ended that call, the phone was delivered to me a few days later. Just a heads up to anyone else!

So this guy with an Indian accent claimed he was calling from Carphone Warehouse, trying to sell me a Huawei P50 Pro on some all inclusive 24-month contract for £30 a month plus £30 upfront. I listened for a bit but just before we got to payment - and he hadn’t asked for any of my details yet, which was odd - I asked him kindly to send me an email to prove he was legit. The email made no sense at all. Also, Carphone Warehouse doesn’t even stock Huawei phones and the P50 isn’t due till the 26th. Total scam.

A bloke with a thick Indian accent calling me from what sounded like a busy place. He said he was calling from CarPhone Warehouse, offering an iPhone 13 for £40 a month.
