25/01/22 got a call from this number, some bloke with an Indian accent claiming he was from Carphone Warehouse. No clue why they’d have my number since I’m not even a customer, which instantly made me suspicious. I told him to jog on pretty quick. Nearly two years back, I received a call from Carphone Warehouse regarding an upgrade for my mobile. Naturally, I agreed, as my contract was nearly at its conclusion and I had purchased the phone through them. Not long after that, an email arrived from O2 informing me that they’d severed ties with Carphone Warehouse, and any future upgrades would have to go through O2 directly. This led me to suspect that Carphone was trying to attract customers before any cut-off point. Earlier today, I received a call from this number, which could very well be linked to Carphone Warehouse. I chose not to answer it, but I'm acutely aware my contract is nearing its end. To my way of thinking, it seems like Carphone Warehouse is back at it, attempting to boost their business now that my contract is expiring. Although the chap who helped me with the last renewal was somewhat insistent, he wasn't overtly aggressive; however, when he started asking for my bank details to sort out insurance, I promptly hung up. Oddly enough, shortly after I ended that call, the phone I had ordered arrived at my doorstep just a few days later. Just a heads up to others!

So this guy with an Indian accent claimed he was calling from Carphone Warehouse, trying to sell me a Huawei P50 Pro on some all inclusive 24-month contract for £30 a month plus £30 upfront. I listened for a bit but just before we got to payment - and he hadn’t asked for any of my details yet, which was odd - I asked him kindly to send me an email to prove he was legit. The email made no sense at all. Also, Carphone Warehouse doesn’t even stock Huawei phones and the P50 isn’t due till the 26th. Total scam.

A bloke with a thick Indian accent calling me from what sounded like a busy place. He said he was calling from CarPhone Warehouse, offering an iPhone 13 for £40 a month. I kept asking why my phone kept warning me it was "possible spam." He kinda dodged the question but kept pushing for ages. Eventually he got a bit annoyed and just hung up. I’d give him 6/10 for sticking with it, 3/10 for manners, and just 1/10 for how believable it was.
