Said they were from the telephone preference service doing some kind of upgrade. They asked to check my name and address first, then gone on to confirm if I pay my phone bill by direct debit. When I asked why they needed that info, twice now they just ended the call on me. Total waste of time.

Just got the same call about 15 minutes ago.

I’ve had at least half a dozen calls today from this number, always a woman speaking with an Asian accent saying she’s from BT about my phone bill. She keeps asking if I’ve got a cheque book. They never leave any voicemail though, so I’ve just stopped picking up. Instead, I look at who’s rung me and call back if it seems legit.

I got loads of calls from this number, some sort of automated message pretending to be from HMRC saying they’re taking legal action against me. Proper annoying!
