Had a few calls yesterday from 01248209488, answered the last one and it was some woman with an Indian accent claiming to be from the TPS. Told her to do one and then rang 1572 to try and get them blocked. Will give TPS a ring to sort it properly.

Got a call from someone saying they were from the TPS, checking my details. They already had loads of info about me. They kept asking me to confirm various things, then slyly tried to get my bank account number by referring to places on my card or cheque book. I ended the call straight away. The voice had a heavy Indian accent.

I've had this number ring me probably over 50 times in the past couple of weeks, with 4 calls just yesterday and 11 today alone. I've finally had enough and blocked it now.

I get calls from this number like every single hour. When I answer, there's no one there, just dead silence. It’s really annoying. Blocking them hasn’t helped either because they just ring again. Honestly, something needs to be done about this!

Got loads of calls today, and most times when I answered there was no one there. One time a person said they were from the telephone preference service, but I’m really not convinced, especially after reading what others have said here. The line was a bit scratchy too, might’ve been my phone, and the caller had a pretty heavy accent.

yeah, this bloke with an indian accent called me, knew my full name, address, postcode and phone number. he claimed to be from tps or something like that, but when i asked which phone company i’m with, he totally messed it up. rang me at least five times just today! he said his name was barry johnson and asked me to ring him back, but i looked for that name here and didn’t find anything so definitely not ringing him. really concerning thinking he might have people’s card info like someone else mentioned. honestly, if the real tps did their job properly, none of this would happen!

Got a call from 01248209488 this Wednesday, 24th April 2019. They rang several times throughout the day - at 11:05, 11:14, 11:36, 1pm, 3:20, 4:27, and 5:06, but when I answered it was just silence. Then at 5:49 they called again, I picked up and there was someone with a strong accent, maybe Chinese, trying to inform me about the telephone preference service. I told them I wasn’t interested and firmly asked them to stop calling me. Wouldn’t you say this borders on harassment or could be seen as a public nuisance?

Got a call from this number earlier, but I didn’t pick up since I didn’t know who it was. Probably for the best though, cos almost every call I get these days is either some scam or just silence. Looks like you lot are spot on!

I received a call from this number, and the caller claimed to be offering help with blocking unwanted calls. She seemed to have an alarming amount of personal information about my BT account, including payment history and even queried whether I had a new credit card, mentioning that my previous one might have expired in 2019. I found the whole thing suspicious, so I ended the conversation, but she called me back almost immediately. To be honest, her accent and the crackling line made it quite challenging to comprehend what she was saying. I firmly told her I was clueless about her claims and insisted that she should not call me again, before hanging up and subsequently blocking her number.

Some guy called me claiming he was from TPS, saying he could stop all those annoying international spam calls and needed to double-check the expiry date on my card. I told him to call me again in about 30 minutes so I could have a proper look up his number on Google first. Not sure if he’ll ring back or not!

this wasn’t the tps i know (the free one), but some tel number preference thing. a bloke with a thick indian accent said it was about our subscrption ending soon, a “service call” he said (so not spam he claimed). i said i had no clue about this, maybe it’s my partner’s thing, and asked if i could get the number to call back later. nope, he refused to give out any details until after i’d done... whatever transaction it was. bit odd, don’t they want folks ringing back??

There was this bloke with a really thick Indian accent claiming to be from TPS, said he needed to update my scam call settings or some rubbish like that. He kept going on and on, quite annoying. What freaked me out was he seemed to have bits of my card info, like the expiry date and stuff. Then he asked for my sort code, tryin’ to make out it’s just some normal bank number you can get anywhere. Lucky for me, I’m not daft enough to fall for that.
