This number is pretty much identical to one that rang a few days back, just the last digit changed. Didn’t bother answering, no voicemail left either, so my guess is they’re just timewasting scammers or dodgy people. I’ve blocked it now... but I’m sure they’ll be back, swapping out the final digit to try and slip past again! Every time I get calls like this I label them as risky - if it’s a legit firm acting this way, I hope they go bust, and if it’s scammers, may karma hit them hard and fast!

This number turns out to be calling from overseas, even though it looks like it’s a local UK line. Whoever’s behind it has used some sort of tech trick to mask the true origin. I spoke with BT about it, and they offer a service to block this single number, or you can get a device that stops any number you don’t want, including those that hide their number - usually telemarketers. The blocking device does cost money, but since I don’t get around much, it’s worth it for me. In the past day, this number has rung me four times, but I only managed to answer once because the calls come so quickly.

This number has rung me on two occasions. The initial time, I returned the call since my area code starts with 01246 and I assumed it was a local call. When I got through, there was just a voicemail saying 'Goodbye'. The same thing happened again at 11:38 on Wednesday 18th February 2015.
