I received a rather peculiar call from what appeared to be a business inquiring whether I had taken a holiday overseas in the past couple of years. They suggested that I might be entitled to a refund related to hygiene inspections. When I attempted to return the call, I was greeted by an American-accented recorded message assuring me that 'your call is important to us,' before I was eventually connected to a representative. While the number they called me from was local, the operator's accent was decidedly not. They seemed to have minimal information - merely a phone number, a correctly matched address, and some vague likelihood of my having travelled abroad during that period. I couldn't quite fathom where this could lead, so I decided to hang up and block their number.

I've been inundated with calls from this number on a daily basis, and it's not just the occasional ring-it's multiple times throughout the day! I've asked them to remove my number from their list, yet the calls persist. It's quite vexing to receive calls in the evening too; I really don't appreciate being disturbed at 8 or 9 in the evening.
