To double check, I looked up Fonehouse’s official number on their website (which was nothing like the number that called me) and rang them up. They confirmed it was a scam since they never cold call and I’m not even registered with them.

Best thing to do is just block and ignore this number!

Had a right dodgy call just now claiming to be from Fonehouse, trying to lure me in with some contract deals. I mentioned that I’ve got a brand-new phone and asked them to take my number off their list, but they flat-out refused. When I mentioned it’s a legal obligation to remove it, they simply scoffed and hung up! Just to be on the safe side, I popped over to the actual Fonehouse website and rang their genuine number (which is totally different from this one) and they confirmed it was a scam. Apparently, they don’t do cold calling and I’m not even on their records. Make sure to steer clear and BLOCK this number!

The caller had a South Asian accent and there was this constant buzzing in the background, like they were in some kind of call centre. They claimed to be from the "O2 department" or something similar. VERY FISHY! The call really felt like it was from abroad, the English was broken and there was a noticeable lag like it was bouncing around somewhere. They showed a UK number but it clearly wasn’t local. The start was super dodgy, trying to sell brand new phones with this crazy big discount that’s just not real. I’m convinced these lot are definitely SCAMMERS and best avoided.

When I asked a few questions, they just stopped talking, so I ended the call. Then, another call came from (01262 262014) offering 20% off my O2 bill (which I’m not even signed up to).
