For the past couple of weeks, this number kept bombarding me with calls, sometimes ringing me up to seven times a single day. Each time, they said they were from BT, which we don't even use. I tried saying I wasn’t interested, even used some harsh words, and at one point just let the phone ring out without picking up, but nothing made them stop. They’ve finally quietened down, but today I got a letter through the post that looks fishy - supposedly from Equifax Ltd. Now I’m thinking if it’s linked to those calls and just part of some dodgy scam.

I had a call supposedly from BT, but odd thing is, he couldn't mention my address. I figured BT would have that info on hand. When I asked a few questions, his answers were a bit off - he claimed to know my qualifications, which is something only people at my job are aware of. Seemed a bit iffy to me.

Got a call from this number today about 1:15pm, picked up only to hear a really loud crackling noise but nobody talking. I've been getting quite a few calls from this number and another starting with 020 on both my mobile and landline.

I got called like 8 times yesterday by these jokers, all saying there’s a problem with my router and pretending to be from BT. Sounds like some dodgy overseas call centre running a scam. Yesterday she kept ringing me over and over, so I just put my phone down and didn’t pick up anymore. Fingers crossed everyone they ring is as careful about scams as we are here. In the past, I’ve reported those 1471 redial numbers to the cops. Since I’m in a village with lots of elderly folks who like using their computers for online shopping (mainly because our bus links are pretty rubbish), the police actually asked me to write something for the local parish newsletter to warn them better.

This number, 0124580700, kept ringing me all afternoon claiming to be from BT openreach, saying my internet was having issues - which was clearly a lie. There was no way to get back in touch with them and it sounded like one of those call centres from India on the line. I checked with BT’s support, and they told me about their free call protect service. After 24 hours, you can activate it by dialling 1572, and it sends dodgy calls straight to voicemail, which is a lifesaver.

Got a call from someone named ‘Daniel’ claiming to be from BT DATA, telling me my broadband was having issues. I asked nicely for the usual 0800 BT number just to check, but he said they wasn’t using that due to loads of scam calls. I even threw in the word ‘negative’ to see how he’d respond, but he completely missed the point and got pretty rude! Felt like a scam for sure - after that, his attitude was downright unfriendly and about as amusing as a funeral.

I got a call from someone claiming to be from BT, but the line was awful and noisy, so I just ended the call. Later, I rang BT on 0800 800 150 to check if it was legit. They told me their system keeps track of all official calls to customers, and nothing was recorded for that number. The BT advisor said the number wasn’t genuine at all and recommended I add it to my blacklist using the BT Call Protect service, which is free. Got a call claiming to be from BT broadband, saying my system had some nasty virus on it. I have multiple hubs and they wanted me to say the hub names so they could supposedly verify.
