Got one of those dodgy emails claiming to be from the DVLA site. They tried to nick 50p first. Luckily, I contacted my bank, they blocked the card straight away and said they’ll stop that 50p going through so they won’t be able to take any more dosh.

I tried to pay my car tax using my phone and everything looked alright at first, but when I looked at my bank balance, only 50p had been deducted and it was linked to the number 01245673715. I quickly cancelled my card and now I’m just waiting for a new one to arrive.

You gotta head over to vehicelinfo[###], sign in, then pop onto the accounts section to change your alerts - loads of us thought we were on some official UK government site but actually it’s some private firm. After turning off all alerts, make sure you cancel your account too. That should stop them taking any more money out. Feels like it’s somewhere between a dodgy scam and just really sneaky business, or maybe a bit of both. Next time, I’m just gonna sort my tax through the Post Office!

I just found out that Vehicleinfo has been taking £5.95 from my bank without my permission and I’ve never come across them before. I think it happened when I renewed my car tax online. After the first time they took the money, I emailed them to stop any further charges and they did for a bit, but two months later they took money again. I’m really annoyed and have messaged them again but looks like I’ll have to contact my bank to cancel this direct debit I never even agreed to. Proper dodgy.

I’m really not sure what’s going on here. I just tried to look up info about my car on Google and somehow money has been taken from my account every month. I have no clue how this started or how to get it stopped.

I reckon there’s got to be some link between Vehicleinfo and the DVLA. Right after I renewed my road tax over the phone with the DVLA, money was taken straight from my account - first 50p then £5.99. My road tax was from April and I’ve just told the bank about it. It’s mad how these little amounts slip under the radar but definitely pile up in the end.

Take it up with your banks fraud department then ring 0333 344 0917 Mon-Fri, 9 to 5. A woman picked up right away and promised a full refund in about 8-10 days (apart from the first 50p) after checking your email and info. (No need to get angry thankfully :-) Seems they make a killing from folks too lazy to sort it all out. This scam’s clever, think about all the Brits taxing their vehicles on DVLA and ticking that box without realising, and all the cash they’re losing before they spot it!

I need to find out how to cancel this because I can’t get through. I’ve cancelled everything else and don’t want any more payments coming out. That’s the money I earn in an hour.

Ive noticed the same thing, £5.95 gets taken from my account every month or sometimes more than once. Nothing shows up on direct debit and I honestly dont remember ever using their site!

This is definitely a scam - you believe you're just paying your road tax, but really you've ended up signing up for a monthly subscription.

£5.95 has been taken from my bank account and I’ve never dealt with vehicle info or given permission for this payment. I’m planning to reach out to my bank’s fraud department to get to the bottom of this today.

£5.95 got taken from my bank without me signing up for anything. I’ve never dealt with these lot before and only found out when I spotted the cash missing. I rang my bank and got my card blocked straight away. They’re now checking it out as an unauthorised payment. Looks like it’s for some useless service you can actually use free of charge!

01245 673715 kept taking £5.95 every month for two months supposedly for vehicle info. It began after my DVLA payment failed. Bank’s dealing with it now and I had to cancel my card.

I've noticed money being taken from my bank every month labelled as vechile info. I've never given my bank details to anyone else, so I'm clueless about what's happening here.

I noticed the same thing on my credit card statement. 50p was taken the day I paid for my car tax renewal, then 5.95 the following day. I definitely didn’t enter my bank details anywhere else linked to the tax payment. Seems like the scammers managed to hack into the DVLA site somehow. I’m going to cancel my credit card to be safe.

Just spotted a payment of £0.90 from 01245673715 listed as Vehicle Info on my bank statement today. I contacted my bank and they told me there’s another charge of £5.95 pending. I’ve already had my card cancelled. I’m supposed to speak with the bank’s fraud department tomorrow. Fingers crossed it gets sorted.

Saw a charge of £5.95 from January from VEHICLEINFO (0124567315) - I had already taxed my car then. Told my bank to block any more payments but since it seems to be a recurring monthly fee, they gotta get me a new bank card. Also reported it to Action Fraud.

This is so frustrating. They’ve been charging me £5.95 every month without my permission. The only way I could stop it was by cancelling my bank card. Absolute muppets. I work on the front line and it’s getting hard to even afford petrol to get to my job! Why isn’t something done about these scammers? The number linked to the transaction just rings out. I reckon they nicked my card info from the DVLA site. All this nonsense kicked off right after I renewed my vehicle tax online! Proper annoyed here!

vehicle info has charged me 3 times £5.95 all on the exact same day. my bank sorted it out and gave me the money back, they’ve seen loads of complaints about this firm before. ive called them 3 times but just got left on hold each time. i even wanted to check how much calling their number costs but couldn’t find anything about it online and now i’m worried they’ll just keep charging my account!

01245 673715 appeared on my bank statement with two charges of £5.95 each. I have no idea what "vehicle info" is about. I’m going to report it to my bank now. Watch out for this number. If you have caller ID, be careful and just don't pick up.

if folks didnt respond to cold callers theyd probably give up pretty quick. but since some people do reply its always gonna be worth the call for them. personally i just ignore them and any firm that keeps ringing me or sends random letters i make sure not to use their service, ive done that a bunch of times now.

There’s money being taken out of my bank for a vehicle, just a tiny amount every month, but I never agreed to it and there’s no info saying who it’s from or what for. Shows you gotta keep a close eye on your statements all the time.

for the past couple months ive noticed money coming out my bank and this number keeps showing up as the payment reference. i'm off to the bank today to sort it out, coz the reason for the debit says something about vehicle info. i googled the number, but ive never signed up for any vehicle info service. honestly, im fuming that someone has got my bank details and is withdrawing cash without my permission.
