Got a call from an Asian guy claiming to be from Sky, telling me there was an issue with my system. He told me to get on my computer and run some sort of 'speed check'. When I started faking like I was doing what he said, he suddenly flipped out and started shouting abuse at me, even making disgusting sexual threats.

I picked up my landline and a women’s recorded voice just said “please die” then it cut off. I then called back from my mobile and a blokes recording said BT had blocked this number and they needed my info. Something about it didn’t feel right so I just ended the call straight away.

Been bothered three times in the last few days by people claiming to be from "Microsoft," each call coming from a different number. The latest was from 01277 651367, before that 01269 594669, and another one too. They won’t take no for an answer and are really forceful. Even after I mentioned it’s a common scam, she kept pushing, trying to prove she was legit by giving me a so-called "unique code." Watch out and don’t fall for it, it could end up costing you a lot.

BEWARE! This is a TOTAL SCAM. Lots of folks have already lost loads of cash this September because of these awful tricks. These dodgy scams are getting worse, so NEVER hand over your personal or bank info. If you get a suspicious call, message or letter, make sure you report it to Action Fraud and spread the word on your socials. Asking others to share it really helps stop more people from falling for these scams. Thanks for helping to fight this!

I didn't pick up originally but since I'm expecting a call from a stranger, I decided to call back. The woman who answered sounded quite old and seemed really annoyed because she keeps getting lots of calls from folks trying to figure out who rang them. So, honestly, don’t bother returning the call - you'll just be talking to her. And if you do pick up when it rings, just know it’s a scammer on the line.

Totally a scammer! He told me my computer was messing up Microsoft or something. I played along for a bit, but then he got really mad, saying my PC was causing problems. Thing is, my laptop wasn’t even on or connected to power or the internet! Honestly, steer clear of these people at all costs.

Received a call purportedly from Microsoft. They insisted I verify my name and address, but I declined to provide that information. I then inquired, "Is this some sort of scam?" His response was, "Pardon me, sir?" I followed up with, "Are you implying there's a virus affecting my computer?" He countered with, "Actually, I'm reaching out to inform you of some suspicious activity on your broadband connection. We must look into it." At that point, I decided it was best to hang up.

This afternoon I got a couple of calls from different numbers, both the classic Microsoft scam routine. It’s like, at first they sound all smooth and convincing, but after a while you see it’s just a tired old trick. Kinda reminds me of that line from Byron - looks fresh on the outside but underneath it’s all aged and dreary.
