I received a rather alarming call today. An automated voice, sounding distinctly American, claimed it was a final notice from HM Revenue and Customs. They urged me to ring a specific number immediately or face arrest! Quite ridiculous, isn’t it?

Got two messages about a final demand from HMRC, but the caller had an American accent and didn’t say my name or company. Definitely a phishing attempt.

i got a recorded message telling me to ring this number right away or i’d be arrested over a supposed court case with hmrc. thought it was fishy so i contacted the non emergency police line to let them know about it.

Got a call from someone saying they were an “agent” from customs and revenue, not HMRC, but they had a really noticeable American accent and said they were calling from Wales. They told me I had some kind of injunction against me, no names given, and that the courts would be involved soon. I cut the call short before they could finish, as it was clearly a phishing attempt.
