They were attempting to entice me with a fraudulent loan offer and, on top of that, were keen to have me subscribe to a social media monitoring service for a fee of £15 each month. Quite the cheek!

Got a call where they said my number and name were picked for some government debt relief scheme. I asked them exactly which scheme it was because I wanted to have a look online, but they dodged the question and then started getting quite rude. The woman kept pushing me to verify my address, but I refused. Then she shouted mockingly, "So you don't want help from the government then?" I replied no. She shot back, "Oh, so you're loaded then, are you?" I just ended the call, refusing to put up with that nonsense. A legitimate organisation would have no trouble proving their identity properly.
