I did recently look for car insurance quotes on moneysupermarket DOT com but made sure to untick all the options about being contacted. Seems like they’ve managed to bypass BT’s Call Protect because the number appears on my caller ID, yet when I try to block it, it doesn’t show up in the unwanted list. The firm calling is Call Compare. They phoned me cold and used my name, claiming my car insurance renews this month on the 21st and offered a quote. I've never dealt with them and the renewal date they gave is wrong. Since my number’s on the TPS list, they shouldn’t be ringing me at all. I looked them up on Companies House and found it’s basically a one-person outfit started in August 2018, with a share capital recorded a year earlier in August 2017 of just £1. Seems like anyone can set up a company with just a quid and try to scam folks, doesn’t it?

It's an insurance help line, I think they were known as Call Connection before but that firm shut down, so now Call Compare holds the customer info. Got a call trying to sell car insurance and they kept asking for loads of my personal info. When I asked for their website or an official email to check who they were, they said they don’t have a website or anything online. Apparently, they just work by phone only. Bit suspicious if you ask me.

I used to go through Call Connection for my car insurance quotes, but then I found out they were bought by Call Compare. I gave them a go this year and ended up getting a better deal with Adrian Flux. Honestly, it made sorting out my insurance way easier and saved me some cash too. Proper handy service!

I got a call from someone claiming to be Call Compare about my car insurance renewal. They said they’d called me before and that’s how they got my number, but I honestly don’t recall any previous contact. They mentioned a renewal date that was totally wrong! When I said no to giving my date of birth to verify, they then asked if I’d confirm it if they had it right - which, surprise, they didn’t. I told them straight away to take me off their list.

I received a call from Call Compare regarding car insurance, and it appears they obtained my details from Call Connections, a firm that’s since ceased operations. It seems they gather contact information and then cold call individuals without consent. I find this not only dubious but downright intrusive. I've gone ahead and blocked their number.

Got a call from Call Compare regarding car insurance. Turns out, they got my number from Call Connections, which I heard has shut down now. Seems like they just buy up contact lists and cold call folks nonstop. Really feels like harassment and possibly against the rules. Had to block them straight away.

It's weird how they somehow figured out my car insurance is up for renewal. Reading the other comments, it looks like they might be linked to Go Compare, even though I haven’t visited their site in ages!

Got calls from 01244780011 about 4 times in a span of 4 hours, but they never bothered to leave a voicemail. After seeing the feedback here, I instantly blocked the number. I’m not even with Virgin Media, so it’s like someone’s passed my info along without me knowing? Proper shady!
