This person said they were there to help with my pip claim but wanted to ‘hurry things along’ by using some online forms. Then they asked me to send my bank details by text to ‘make it quicker’, which felt really suspicious. I told them I’d stick to sending stuff through the post like we agreed. Felt really off to me.

Someone rang me from this number but I had no clue who it was since I don’t know anyone in Chester! I just let it ring out. They didn’t leave a voicemail, so I figured it wasn’t urgent. Decided to look it up here and found out it’s probably spam based on other comments, so I added it to my blocked calls.

Just got a call from someone with a strong Asian accent, saying it was important and from HMRC about an overpayment. I hung up straight away before they could start asking for my bank info to get some fake tax refund back. Added the number to my block list (which honestly, is getting bigger than my actual contacts)! When are the authorities going to sort these calls out!

So, I followed someone else’s advice and blocked the number instead. Just found out about this site recently, and it’s such a clever way to find out who’s calling. Really irritating, they just won’t accept no for an answer. The easiest way I find is to just hang up straight away. Or if you want, pretend you’re busy like saying “someone’s knocking at the door” or “hold on, I’m cooking” and then just leave them waiting. My favourite trick though, is to pick up and pretend you’re calling your nearest hospital’s mortuary - trust me, they hang up faster than anything, it’s brilliant!

08/11/2017 around 11.26 am. Got a call from a woman with a northern accent, claiming to be from some PPI claim company. She kept going on about Halifax offering more cash for claims. When I wouldn’t give her any details, she suddenly hung up in a huff. Pretty sure she was fishing for my bank details. They’d sent me some forms before, but I never bothered completing them. Felt dodgy to me. Watch out for these lot.
