Got some truly dodgy calls from someone who sounded like they had an Asian accent, saying they were from Currys and pitching a “bargain” mobile deal for £40 a month. My missus ended up getting five calls all within half an hour from the same person (10 Jun 22). Each time, she put the phone on speaker, told them she wasn’t interested and then hung up. But this pest kept calling right back and was pushing her for bank details. I took a look at the numbers that showed up on our phone, and they were all fakes, spoofed to look like they came from places like: - 01244 422028 - Nottingham Hall for Children - Masala Bowl, Wembley - Crystal Hall, London - H & C Aircon After the last time, my wife called them out on the spoofing, and unbelievably, the scammer still wouldn’t quit and kept demanding her banking info. Honestly, not the sharpest tool in the shed. Seriously, don’t pick up cold calls if you can avoid it (they’re illegal for UK firms) and under no circumstances share your personal details with strangers on the phone.
